Desktop Central is a Windows Desktop Management Software for managing desktops in LAN and across WAN from a central location. It provides Software Deployment, Patch Management, Asset Management, Remote Control, Configurations, System Tools, Active Directory and User Logon Reports. Its network-neutral architecture supports managing networks based on Active Directory, Novell eDirectory,. The availability of JVMs on many types of hardware and software platforms enables Java to function both as middleware and a platform in its own right. Hence the expression 'Write once, run anywhere.' Starting with J2SE 5.0, changes to the JVM specification have been developed under the Java Community Process as JSR 924. Java Virtual Machine is the name that Java Runtime Environment was known for a time.
